Unbelievable Loss !?!

Can someone explain to me how a Lvl 2 Kol + 4 Cobalts + 3 Gauss Turrets can lose convincingly to a Lvl 1 Whatever-the-heck-it's-called "Evacuator" and 5 of those "Skirmishers?" Do the stats the computer displays for ships even mean anything, or does it just cheat.

The Evacuater I believe has a nanite attack that lowers your armor and wreaks your hull. Those ships would easily die to the nanite attack coupled with the other ships.

Well Skirmishers have better armor than Cobalts. It can also regenerate its hull. Other than that you had two capital ships going head to head. The Gauss turrets, in my opinion, aren't that effective at first except against siege craft, depending also on whether they are even in range of the enemy.

5 skirmisher >> 4 cobalds
evasc has the nanite ability which makes it superior to most other caps in 1v1 at low level
turrets could not have been in range - or just not strong enough to overcome the huge advance the vasari fleet initially had

getting repair bays up is probably the best idea to deal with that. they are usually better then turrets

Im guessing you upgraded the Kol's gauss cannon to level two. The evacuator's squadron probably got to you. I have to agree that turrets are uneffective. Im also assuming you had little to no research done and that the enemy had some too.

Only thing I can think off is that you were targeting his cap , and he was targeting your frigs.

He kills your frigs , gets a nano-upgrade , then overwhelmes your cap.

the evacuator kicks most battle ships in 1v1 due to his strong nano disassemble attack.

lower armor (-2,-4,-6), damage over time (30 damage * 20/30/40 secs) and ignores shields as it effects only the hull of the targeted ships.

No, the devastator has a level 6 nanite ability, but the evacuator's can be level 1.

Just a disclaimer: I would run an Evacuator with bombers up against pretty much anything.

This post is similar in spirit to a post made by Drathkar in which he had trouble with a game where two Sovas were beaten by one Progenitor.

What we are seeing is that micro as a huge part to play (i.e. were either of you focus firing? Were you focused on his cap or his skirmishers? Did you micro your gauss cannons too or did you just let them fire free? and so on...)

Another large part of it is that colony capships have powerful support abilities, in this case a debuff which was designed specifically to rock Kols. Still, it's hard to blaim class differences alone...alot of it comes down to level of play.
