On The Bus

On the bus,

waiting, wondering..."how did I get here?"

Something is wrong, it's different

I'm all alone, except for one

who waits with me

I feel nothing, no pain

except the pain of silence

"it's not your time, you have to go",

I was told.

"But why?" I asked

"Because it is not your time", was the response.

"I can't", I said.

"Why not?" I was asked.

Because I feel no pain, came to my mind

I feel no pain, I thought to myself in wonder

"I feel no pain", I said out loud.

She looked at me quite strangely.

I feel no pain...

I am not judged...

I have no worries...

No one bothers me....

The silence is overwhelming

I bent my head and listened

I hear nothing, but peace

The silence is deafening

"But you can't stay here", she said to me.

"Your job is not yet completed, you have so much more to do".

"You have to go on with your journey...."

"...so much more for you to do..." she repeated.

I looked at her, she looked at me

"But I'm afraid to go on, to continue into the unknown".

"Oh my darling, don't you know, you're not alone?  You are never alone".

"You will always have someone to guide you, always..."

"Always...." I cried out loud

I sat up and looked around me, the familiar sights greeted me

A teardrop fell without me knowing

"I'm not alone" I whispered.

I rolled over

and fell into oblivion, finally the sleep I crave!
