what does 'maximum activations' mean?

i have submitted my prob to stardock and have my ticket.......ill wait in que...im patient......but what does that mean?

(im asking cause thats the issue i got when i reinstalled windows today on my xp )

It's a safety put in to insure that your serial number isn't being used too many places.
