Possible patch needed?

Hello there,

I recently bought the full galactic Civilizations II pack and all of its expansions, i got it from Stardock central and the download went well, I assume that "twilight of the Arnor" encompasses all of the previous expansions content plus it's own, so that is the only one i will be playing, but unfortunately i 'm not too PC knowledgable and i am unsure whether i need to go somewhere to get the latest patch, or if i already received the latest patched version with my purchase.

Does anyone know if i received the latest "twilight of the Arnor" from Stardock central or if i must go somewhere else to have it patched please?

Thanking you in advance for any answers received. :)

If you downloaded from SDC, you've already gotten whatever was the latest at that point.

SDC is nice like that... I have used it for awhile now, and while it's a little odd at first, you begin to wish all companies would have an interface like that to keep track of things.

Occasionally Stardock Central will not see an update, but there's three threads in the forums about it by the time I check, along with instructions about what to do. Usually an XML update or swapping the server the program looks for, very easy to do, and once you have done it a few times will take a few seconds to take care of.

I can honestly say getting updates for this game will be the least of your worries.

One thing I would recommend... check the bottom box to archive the previous version... Once in a great while something sneaks through... with that checked you can go back a step and still keep playing. Mostly a help for the beta testers, but hey, ya just never know.

Ubuntu is great like that - there's a program called apt-get, with a front end called synaptic, that updates *everything* in the system. Everything updates, all the time - it's like windows update on steroids.

If it's not on the Ubuntu main servers, just put the URL into the list of servers apt-get monitors, you can install the new program from it, and it just updates stuff in the background most of the time.
