Vista Support

I recently came across Stardock and their cornacopia of, what seems to be, very interesting and unique software/tools. In my rigorous searching however I have not been able to find a clear and definite answer, even when looking at old posts from other forums in regards to some specifics with compatability.

Now, lets say I would like to purchase the one offer that allows me to have a year or so subscription to updates and gives me access to all the Stardock products. I think it is called Object Desktop on the products list.

Now, if I were to purchase this, I would like to purchase everything, or most things, in that fashion, rather than paying $20 per for a couple of programs.

I have Vista Home 32-bit, would all of these work on there? I keep seeing things that lead me to believe that:

A) Some of these programs are not at a version in which I would be able to use them fully on any Vista OS version, or

B) That some and/or all will only work on the ULTIMATE version for Vista.

Could someone clarify this for me?

And on the chance that the answer to the above question does not correlate, I have immense interest in the Deskscape software, that lets you have animated desktop wallpapers. However I am led to believe that you cannot use that without Vista Ultimate, even IF you CAN use the other ones, like ObjectDock, Windowblinds, CursorFX and so on and so forth with Vista Home.

I was not terribly sure where to post this so if this is the innapropriate section than please forgive me.

I greatly appreciate any and all posts that will help me to clarify all of this so that I may make a proper decision on wether or not to purchase one or a few of the products available, or even purchasing them all through the Object Desktop deal.

I have been unable to find a "table" that easily explains what programs will work with what versions of Vista, or for that matter, Vista at all.

Thanks in advance.

Also, I noticed that ObjectDock is not part of the standard or Ultimate version of Object Desktop. Is there a specific reason for this???

This will give you some info to digest.  Object Desktop Deskscape will work on all versions of Vista.  The link will state which  programs work with Windows Vista.

I run DeskScapes on Vista Home Basic with whatever codecs HP installed. It's awesome! There are a few old programs that don't work with Vista. These pretty much have newer, better replacements.Impulse will not let you install to the wrong OS. Everything else that Stardock offers works with XP and Vista and you won't find better support, here at WC or Stardock, anywhere. Jump on in, the water's fine. ;)

If you have the 32bit your good to go. CursorFX Plus and ObjectDock are not a part of ObjectDesktop.

There is a free version of ObjectDock,or a much more customizable, paid version, OD Plus. You can try it out and decide what serves you best.RightClick is also a terrific program launcher. It's like having your start menu on your cursor.Dreams rock, Logon Studio is cool, Icon packager, new UI,more Vista packages all the time.I honestly don't think you'll find much you can't use.

Thank you all for clarifying everything for me. Unfortunately, my computer messed up yesterday out of the blue. Not sure what happened lol. Go figure, what odd timing. At any rate, once I get that fixed I will most likely be purchasing ObjectDesktop. The community here seems top notch and very friendly so I can't wait to jump in, once my computer problems are resolved.

I thought I would add this to the updates.

The website features page now lists under the product what OS it works with AND what bit version you can use as well. Many people in support were asking for this so I wanted to pass the word. If you have any further questions please let me know.
