Peacekeeper mega event is not working properly!!

I made a similar post a few days ago, but know I'm pretty sure there's a bug.

I got the PK mega event and they destroyed all of my ships. OK fine, I understand.

But they also detroyed all of my freighters and trade routes (what is agressive/militaristic about freighters???)

They destoyed my research resource starbase, but not my military resource or economic bases.  If they are designed to halt agression, shouldn't they have gone after the military resource?

Finally, other civs have been warring with each other, but the PK's just stand down and watch. In other words, the PK's are only attacking me when I act agressively, but completely ignoring the AI players.

I can't defeat them, so I'm essentially stuck until I can build large hulls. ...and then there is the issue about techs taking much, much  longer in TA than they used to in DA (covered in another thread)

Assuming this behavior was not built into the design of the PK's, it should be fixed. If it is working as designed, please let me know.

Thanks,

B.

It's not working as intended, although this behaviour dates back to Dark Avatar. The Peacekeeper event is the reason why I usually play with Mega Events off.

However, if you keep regular autosaves, you can just go back to your last save before the event. Chances are, you won't be getting it again.

Thanks Pndrev!

I've being playing all versions for quite a while, and this is the first I ever seen of the PK's. The AI usually throws the plague and Jagged knife events at me.

Yah, gots to research up the appropiate defense. Save those ship production points build a Starfleet battles or David Weber Monitor type ship (huge) load extremely silly amount of the approriate defense and go hunting. Or make your fleet like the elves fast and unarmored run rings around them and go nerf someone elses empire where they have killed there fleet.

Or if you have them use terror stars.

its too bad that they dont let us do a terror star design.

Duh

Well I got rid of the PK's.

I traded lots of techs, BC, and my right arm :), for the large hull tech.

I then reseached far down the missle defense tech tree.

I got another random event that changed a bunch of zero class planets into class 6 planets. Luckily lots of them were near me. I colonized them and put one Yor research facility on each.

Once I was far enough down the defense tree. I loaded up a large hull and went after them. I lost a bunch of ships in the process, but finally rid the galaxy of those pesky PK's.

I got this event in my latest game and the result was very funny.

It happend during the end game, I was playing humans and locked in a "cold" war with the YOR whom I was slowly surpassing in every category. Besides us existed 4 less powefull civs who liked me a lot more but whose influence was small, hence my territory was spilling all over their planets.

Once the PK apeared they imediately attacked these smaller civs destrying their entire fleets (because they were on "my" territory). The ever oportunistic Yor saw this as great opportunity and declared war on all 4 of them despite the fact that they could not send any ships to actually attack them due to PK.

Unfortunately the AI was too stupid to realize they were safe and once they started loosing too many ships to the PK (because of my influence) they "assumed" they were loosig the war against YOR, and one by one they surendered to them!  X-(

At the time I was working on research and economic reforms and even though I quicky gheared up for war I was not fast enough to stop this from happening.

Now, once I am finally ready for war the YOR surpass me in every field (by a little) and the PK are still around. I still have the tech advantage but if the war becomes a quagmire I will surely be Annihilated!

Well see, the problem, is that you're not playing as the Yor.. :)

That is true, but it is not really a problem in the sense that: I was actually getting quite bored towards the end of the game as I was 100% sure I would eventually win.

Once that happened it became a lot more chalanging and fun.

(besides I was playing as a good civ that game unlike the Evil YOR  ;p )
