Cannot DOWNLOAD in Skin Browser /SDCentral

...But that's why I purchased a subscription!

Hello all - Hope somebody can help! I just purchased an annual subscription to Wincustomise. I did this because I wanted to be able to browse and download via Stardock Central. Stardock Central is otherwise able to connect and download from the internet without any problems. But when I access "Skin Browser" and try to download anything, I get error msg "Failed to download". --- OS: Vista SP1 Running SD Central as Administrator with full rights. This is NOT firewall issue - tried turning off the firewall. I am a fully logged in and paid up Wincustomise subscriber... I took "ownership" of all the Stardock products in Vista, so this should not be a Vista security issue. --- As I try to download, I notice some messages regarding "redirection" at the server.. So perhaps this is nothing to do with my setup at all, but in fact a problem on the server. The Stardock IRC group seemed to think this particular functionality may not be very stable... Nobody in the group was able to work out how to fix this problem. I am dissappointed and irritated because I just paid USD19.95 in order to access this functionality - just to find I cannot get it to work. :-( Any advice appreciated :-) What's going on here? I've just tried it and it works fine for me, though that doesn't mean it isn't a server issue.

Go into StardockCentral > Tools > Settings > Internet and try changing the server - I'm currently using US-2.

Hi - I tried both US1 and US2 and got the same problem with both.

So it's working for you?

Are you on XP or Vista?

The SOLUTION to this problem is to DELETE the cookies in IE7. Nevermind the fact that you are a die-hard Firefox user who never ever use IE7. Somehow Wincustomise cookies are set in IE7 anyway, and they need to be deleted before the download will work in Skin Browser in SD Central.

Interesting solution. But at least it was a local issue and not something wider.

Vista Ultimate & FF 3.0b5 here - but IE7 is logged in to my WC account, cookies 'n' all.

At least all is well now  :CONGRAT:

You don't have to delete the cookies only in IE7. If you delete the cookies in Fire Fox you should get the same corrective result.
