Who's spies are these?

I've been trying to figure out how I am to know who's spies I am nullifying all the time these days in TA.  I figure you probably can't tell, but please do let me in on the secret if there is a way.

Also, how do you look up what level of intel someone else has got on you?  I should think that with an advanced (or maybe even high) level of intel on a race that is spying on you, you sould be able to tell what they've got on you as well.  But then, wouldn't you be able to use that channel that you know about to give false information?  I can understand why that info isn't avaiable I guess (if it isn't).

All spying activity is completely anonamous. There is no way to tell who sent the spy. On the bright side, no one can tell when you are spying on them.

Thanks for the confirmation.

What about the second question?

Well, there is no direct way to tell, but a good indication is if no groups of spies have spent a significant amount of time in your empire without being nulified, the they don't have anything. If on the other hand you have been overrun with spies for 10 or more turns without being able to do anything about it, assume your enimies know everything.

Seriously, Unless the AI changes the ship with TA really upgrade how spies are used by the computer, they never know anything.

Assume the AI knows everything anyway. After all, it already runs your game. Regardless of whether the AI does or does not "cheat" for its information, it will never be conclusively proven. Just assume the AI has complete omniscience over everything in the game, and that any behaviors to the contrary are nothing more than misdirection aimed at hiding the fact that it knows everything. It's not paranoia when they really are out to get you.

If you want to get rid of the spies there is an always amusing tactic.
Kill all the other civilisations occupying all that valuable real estate.

Once only you exist..poof no more spies. Hasnt failed me so far.

I think that's based on you having transports parked near their planets.

As for who owns spies, it seems that it is now possible for no one to own them:
