[Solved] How do I change this?

Irritating "background" with theme

Hi.

I started using WindowBlinds again, and I just love it.

But the theme Im using right now has some things I want to get rid of:

Look at my example. The gray/black background as you see here in Messenger Live pisses me off. I cant really see what people write to me. This is just an example, I know I can change font color and stuff, but its like this is many programs.

How do I change this "background"? I dont want to get rid of this theme, 'cause I really love it, just except of this.

I've tried the "Change the look of a particular application", but that doesnt even effect something.

Thank you

ThaBastus just a few questions that your answers to will assist anyone trying to help.

What OS?

What is the theme you are using? Does it happen with any other theme or all themes?

When you use to option to exclude Messenger Live are you identifing the .exe file?

If you change to the default skin/theme for your computer does it fix the problem?

Go into WindowBlinds configuration, copy and paste the system info back in a reply.

It looks like you're running a skin that uses dark window backgrounds. This is a perfect example of why some of us don't design skins like that. :)

Open it up in SkinStudio and go to the Change Skin Colors section. Switch the drop-down menu to "Show skin defined system colors" and you will most likely find that "Window background" is the color you need to change. You may need to modify the "Window text" color also to make sure it contrasts well enough. Most likely it was set to contrast well with the dark background, however some programs, like Windows Messenger, ignore that setting and force black text.

Where did you get this copy of WindowBlinds?  Contact support@stardock.com for assistance.

Well, I actually made that WB. :) But the main skin is a light background version. It was created just to avoid these problems. If you use that substyle, you'll be all set. The dark background substyle was included for anyone who was willing to overlook those issues.
