Ai Ally Attacked me (locked teams)

I decided to play a game with more than two players (in offline mode) and set up a game with 4 players, two per team.  I locked the teams so there wouldnt be backstabbing, just us against them. Well.....my ally did attack me eventually, though Im not sure why.  I tried to do his mission requests though this is my first experience with that aspect of Sins.  Maybe I wasnt quick enough?  How do I keep my ally from turning against me?  The other team had me between them and it was like 3 against one. Eventually I ended up taking my biggest fleet and wiping out my "ally" while the other team rolled up all but two of my planets (I had 7 or 8 out of 27).  I had lost all my colony ships and they blasted any I made so I just went from world to world nuking planets.  I really need a concise guide to the player requested misisions (destroy tactical stuff, civic stuff, ships of so and so etc).  Or at least some idea why the teams didnt stay locked.

If you get mission requests from the AI, the teams weren't locked. When you enable locked teams in the game options, you shouldn't get missions at all.

Are you sure you locked the teams?

Did you download and install patch 1.04 ? The problem you are describing was fixed with 1.04. Another hypothesis is that you did not carefully lock teams.

Thats possible that I made a mistake setting up the game. I'll try it again. I think I did pretty good overall considering it was 3 v 1 sort of. Thanks for the replies.
