Drag and Drop stops working

After getting Multiplicity up and running between my two machines, I can no longer drag and drop files on my desktop - and other applications that use drag and drop functionality don't work either.  It does work on my secondary machine - but not my primary.  If I reboot the primary machine, the problem goes away for awhile - but then it comes back.

Any idea what might be causing that and how I can prevent it?

What version of MP are you running?
What OS on each PC?
The functions of MP are working fine?

Both machines are running WinXP. MP version is Pro 1.2

All functions on MP seem to working fine, although I've only had it running for one day, so I haven't tested it thoroughly.

The problem seems to happen when my second machine goes into lock button and I have to unlock it via ctrl-alt-del. Hitting those keys and then typing my user name for the second machine make it so I can not longer drag and drop on the main machine.

run this , and check if any keys are stuck when it happens. the numbers in the right columns should all either be 01 or 00 when you're not pressing anything.

Hmm - 1B is set to FFFFFF81 when I'm not pressing anything. What does that mean?

1B is the escape key

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms927178.aspx

it means your system thinks your are permanently pressing your escape key.(stuck in keydown position)

When i keep my finger on my escape key , drag n drop doesn't work either :)

so i suggest you check out if there's any strawberry jam under that key or something /grinn..

.. if it's a software problem , pressing your escape key on the keyboard once will unlock it from the KEYDOWN position..

So , what i probably think is the case , is that on the secondary computer there still is a keyboard attached with a faulty escape key , or with something lying on it... and when you switch back from that computer to the primary one , the system brings over the escape key as being in a pressed position.

Kind regards

Thx for the tip with the escape key. I'm using synergy (similar to Multiplicity), and had the same problem. Pressing Esc again does the trick.

edit: oeps, didn't see this was an old topic, sorry for the bump :-)
