Magnify desktop icons

How do get desktop icons to magnify (enlarge) when you hover over them. Like in the Mac OS's. Is this something that can be done with windowblinds or is this done with  another program? Thanks.

IconX can do it on XP.  It may work in Vista . .may not.  I've heard both.  It's not certified for Vista though.

IconX doesn't work in Vista.

As long as you want the desktop icons to be the same size, here's what you do:

Click on the desktop. Press the Ctrl key and scroll with the mouse wheel. The icons will get bigger or smaller. Choose whatever size you want.

Note: This does not change the icon-spacing grid, so even though the icons will be smaller, the spacing will be the same.

Oh, but this won't make them magnify on mouseover. (Sorry... misread your question.)

Are you doing this on XP or Vista?

Can do it with Objectdock Plus. I have some docks with just one icon on them make the background transparent so it looks like just the icon on the desktop and can set to enlarge on mouseover.

Avedesk can do it, along with a bunch of different hover effects. However, it won't affect the standard icons on your desktop, you would have to add them through Avedesk as pidlshorcuts. Works on XP and Vista.

try the freeware Ubericon (over icon)
you have the bounce effect (+ others) when opening (double click) the icons shortcuts + the folders not only on the desktop !!
