still haven't done it

I did that until a few months ago. Now I mostly choose common settings. Try a huge map with abundant on planets and stars, and you will need many transports. ;)

I usually go abundant all, on a large map. I just hate seeing those empty star systems, I'd rather see open space. I does take me a while to finish a game though. ;)

I usually play common or below, I like space to feel like space: big and empty.

I've played immense/all rare a few times lately. Now *that* is empty space.

I usually play on the largest galaxy size, with everything set to it's lowest setting. It gives it a big empty feel, and makes your dealings with the minor races very important.

How's the AI under those circumstances? I've not worked my way up to that kind of scale yet, but I've always thought it would be interesting.

I still can't get over the multitude of ways to play and enjoy this software.

In all honesty: I don't think there's a game in my 160+ stash that'll hold up to the test of time like GalCivII DA will.

I have a feeling I'll still be playing DA and TA looooooooong after GalCiv III surfaces.

GalCiv feels like Chess on steroids combined with the imagination of the world.

This game pulls me in like no other.... and if you look at the different ways people go about playing this game (as evidenced in this thread), it's a wonder this game isn't receiving some serious accolades and awards for all it's done/doing to us geeky gamers.

still workin on my coffee,

I like small, and habital planets rare with as many civilizations as possible. It gets to be a total war zone.
