Multiplayer save game bug prevents changing/restoring Options on load

When loading a multiplayer game, the Game Options are grayed out and have been reset (i.e. they don't reflect the actual game settings). For example, if we have Fast + Locked settings for everything, play for awhile, save the game, then reload, the game options have been reset to Normal + Unlocked. They also don't allow changes; we cannot just set them back to Fast + Locked at that point.

The only workaround we've found is to load that game with the incorrect game options, save it immediately (once all players have loaded/synced), then quit out and reload that new save game. It then correctly restores the original (Fast + Locked) options.

Note that because of this workaround, in order to reproduce the bug, you do need to play the game awhile before saving.

Not sure this matters but we had 2 human players and 3 hard computers on a medium map.

Bump so hopefully dev sees this. Where's a bug tracker like JIRA for Sins anyway?

This is fixed in 1.04 which is due out soon.

Um, when loading a multiplayer game, it should be possible for the host to enter the game options screen, accept the saved settings, and then the game will use them instead of the defaults.

Annatar11, sweet, glad to hear it's fixed.

Ron, I agree, what you described doesn't always work, and that's the problem. ;)

If thats the case, then there may be an additional, unfixed bug... I haven't heard of the workaround failing before!

Yes, I've always been able to go back to the options in a save and reset them to what they were initially. If for some reason yours are locking, you should probably forward that save game to Stardock support.
