Couple graphics questions

First, for some reason, all of my planets and transparent, with very little detail to them. Second, my game only seems to lag when the movement arrows show up when I give an order. Any idea what these are and how to fix them?

General Specs are
-1 GB RAM
-ATI RADEON 9250 256 MB
-2.4 GHz Intel Celeron

Update your video drivers to the last one that supported the 9250 (Catalyst 6.5 IIRC) if you've not already. The order lines do take a bit of power and as the 9250 is pretty weak as video cards go, the latter issue is not likely to change.
