XP logons not changing now.

I have Logon Studio for XP, and for some reason, it has stopped changing everytime i start up my pc. It is set to randomize logon each boot. So whats going on here?

If you turn off the randomize does the static logon load?

Troll . . does bootskin have a randomizer?  I didn't think so but I could be wrong.

yes, not shown as an option in the manner of LS, but it's it under: 'file' > 'randomize boot screen at startup'

Logons. I'll turn the randomize off and see what happens. Aren't i suppose to get email notifications when i get replies here?

Ok, Turned random off and it will just show the logon that i have selected and not change from that one. Do i just need to uninstall then reinstall it? Been having it for years and don't know what could have caused it to just stop changing like it should be doin.

once you load the ones to randomize and check the box - click 'okay' not 'apply'

if I remember correctly when I click 'apply' it would one load the one that was highlighted

once okay is clicked, close LS and use window+L and try a couple of user switches

Ok. I'll do that. Thanks.

Did that and it's still stuck on one logon. I have many downloaded as well.

set it to default - reboot - make sure the ms one comes up

go back and reset LS for random- click ok instead of apply - switch user a couple of times

Done that and it's still not working correctly. Rebooted 2 times, logged off bout 5 times and still did not change. Very weird. But the first time did give me the original XP logon screen.

move all the randoms selected out of the random list, then uncheck randomize - pick one then apply, click user, pick another then apply, pick user - the single apply work correctly?

ok, when i do that, it only does the first one on the list and doesn't do the next one i chose.

Whats going on is that whichever logon screen is selected, it stays that one for the logon. Even when i do click Randomize in the Options (button)part of it. Like it's totally ignoring that i want it on randomize.

crap

you if it's always the same one - try switching to default xp = make sure it's working, then move the one that keeps showing up out of the logon folder completely - then try randomize

if it gets stuck on different ones = you might try switching to xp default, moving all your skins out to another folder, uninstall, reboot, get a fresh download, reinstall, reboot

Bichur. the default xp logon works fine. Done as you say and it's just don't wanna do right. Gonna uninstall it and run ccleaner then reinstall. Thanks for your help and time. Really appreciate it.

Ok. I uninstalled Logonstudio. Ran ccleaner. Restarted the pc. Guess what. One of the logons is stuck as the user logon screen. What gives? There is not a Wincustomize in my All Programs list either. I have my Stardocks folder with the other things in it but that was totally seperate. How do i get this back to where it needs to be? I guess i'll go ahead and reinstall LogonStudio's. After the uninstall as well, my Windowblinds skin is not transparent anymore like i have it set to.

usually happens if LS is uninstalled before letting xp default take over

reinstall - set to xp default - check a couple of time both by user switching and reboot make sure default is still working

move the downloaded logons to someplace safe if you want, then download and run The Zapper - only choose LogonStudio - it should clear it all out - reboot, try a fresh download, install

If you want to randomise the logons after every boot, there is only 1 work around.. first you must delete the LogonStudio configuration file in the directory it is installed in (be careful the configuration has the same name as the executive), now reopen LogonStudio.

After you've deleted the configuration & reopened LS. click on Options & tick the invisible box that reads 'randomize logons each boot' & now click 'OK'.. Not 'Apply', you must click OK or else it won't work & now that should do it..

this is the only way to randomise your logons unfortunately, well it's the only way it works for me anyway. hopefully the developers will release another version that fixes this problem other people might be dealing with.
