can't download update

why IronClads anti-piracy measures are rediculace.

Ok, trying to update SIn from 1.02 to 1.03. So I hit the UPDATE GAME button and expect to be quickly swept off to update land. But no, things have not gone as planned. The game doesn't recognize my serial #, the same number I used to update to 1.02. So I re-enter my number, assuming the cookie with this info was removed by my anti-virus program. Then I'm told that the number doesn't match my email (how that's even a factor seems rediculace to me). Well I no longer have the same service provider I had when I first installed this game, and thus I have a different email address. Does this mean I'm screwed!?!? Do you have to go out and purchase a new copy everytime you change internet providers? If so, I'm certain that I've purchase my last Stardock product, cause this is stupid. I'm open to the possibility that there is another (equally annoying) explaination. Regardless, I knew to know what I can do get the server to accept the Serial number that I have.

If you already registered and you're getting the registration page when you try to update, just log in on the right.

That's the problem, I am logged in (as evidencedby the fact that I'm communicating on the forum right now). The botton gives me the option to logg off. I guess I could logg off and the back on again, but I doubt that would help.

The updates page doesn't actually share the 'logged in' status with the forum, so you could be logged in on the forum, but not on the front page of the site where the updates reside.

When I hit the update game button, it takes me to a screen where in a box to the upper right it says "WELCOME LORDTROUT" and below that it a button that says "LOGG OFF". The left side of the screen is a request that I enter my serial before i can download the update. Which, as I decribed I attempted (3 times actually) with the described results.

In that case, try clearing your cookies from the site. If the issue still remains after that, contact support@stardock.com.
