No Response from sales after found out i want refund

never any response from tech support

I have purchased products in the past and as recent as tweak vista from stardock with great experiences, until now.  I ordered object desktop basically for deskscapes and it is buggy on vista and also seems to use up to much cpu power.  I was told I should contact tech support before getting a refund issued only to never get a response from them going on a month now.  In contacting sales now all my emails are simply ignored.  I am very dissapointed with the level of service I am recieving.  As I said in the past I have had nothing but good with windowsblinds and tweak vista and wish that were the case now.

If someone can help me from forums my email is mkarps@hotmail.com.

I never thought Id be contacting pcworld/cnet about stardocks customer service.....

Stardock won't refund your money for ObjectDesktop because a free program is buggy on your system?

Which free DeskScapes version? 1.02 or 2.0beta?

Were you trying to use the BETA? Because all beta's are going to be a bit buggy...that's why they're beta. Even I'm having issues with it (whenever I apply a dream from having used a standard wallpaper, explorer crashes). But I know it's beta and they're trying to work out the kinks. I sent in a support ticket to see what they have to say (instead of just rushing for a refund). Have you tried working with them to find out what's wrong?

is deskscapes a part of OD? too bad to hear about that... I like Stardock... never really needed anything from Tech Support... remember once didn't get a response... but otherwise I just go to these forums :P

karps: Had you written in directly to sales@stardock.com? From my experience here, sales is actually very fast at answering emails, so if you've been sitting for a while without a response, that would likely indicate your email had never made it through.

My suggestion would be to create a new ticket here:
https://www.stardock.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=tickets&_a=submit
This way you can avoid spam filters and anything else that may prevent your inquiry from getting through to Stardock.

Try creating a new ticket under "Support," as we may be able to get this working to your expectations. After a ticket is created, it can be passed on to another department, if necessary.

When you create the ticket, please also submit two things:

  • The output from dxdiag - go to Start->Start Search, type dxdiag and run that application. Once this finishes loading, click the Save all Information button to create a file with that information in it.
  • The information from DeskScapes - go to Start->All Programs->Stardock->Object Desktop and click DeskScapes. Choose the option About Stardock DeskScapes and click the Copy information to clipboard link at the bottom. Please then paste that into the body of the ticket.

Thanks! :CONGRAT:

It is important to note that Deskscapes is still in beta, though high cpu usage on video dreams (not dynamic dreams) will always be higher as video decoding is a cpu intensive thing.

Exactly how much a video dream will use is controlled by your CPU, your video card, the video codec on your PC and the type of file in use.  A WMV will usually use more cpu than a mpeg2 video.

Unless of course your video card has MPEG acceleration capabilities
