Had the same problem. Could fix it by editing the colors in the .uis (or.sss) itself (shut down SkS before). The disabled font is represented by "ButtonShadow", the shadow color (guess the one that annoys you)is ButtonLight. These colors influence some other things (separator lines in Photoshop for example) so you have to play around a bit.

You can also try the same color manipulations from SkS but from my experience it doesn´t work propperly...

P.S. I got the feeling that some colors are not RGB but BGR or some other mix (but not the ones mentioned above as far as I remember...)

also make shure that most fonts are not linked to system fonts in the .uis (there´s a thread here that describes how to do that). If you have a list of more than 4 fonts at [SystemFonts] change that as described...

I've yet to find anywhere in SK6 where you can change any of these colours. I either use SK5 or edit the uis with wordpad.

Anyway, in SK5 you can set the menu disabled text to 'flat' which will get rid of the shadow. The other way is to set the button highlight colour to a darker colour.

It's in 'Change System Colors', when the 'edit colors' window comes up, there is a dropdown box at the top. Choose the second option.
