Downloads of skins keep on failing

As far as I know SDC is not working for downloading skins, you will need to use another browser. When and if it will be fixed?.. I do not know.

HG_E It works for dl'ing CFX if that matters. Haven't tried any WBs yet.....but I just dl'd AeroMetal CFX.....

Gueni & Herman Brown I don't run Vista but, if you both had no problems before, and it's not anything like expired accounts, then see if something has change in your settings. Make sure you are running as admin, seems that stops somethings for Vista folks.

All though I'm on XP I also use SDC to download and never have problems. Every once in awhile things do happen, we are dealing with computers and the internet. The other thing you could do is click on tools at the top left side while in SDC, click settings, then internet and select refresh XML data. If that doesn't work change the server on the same screen where you refreshed XML data. Come on back and post what happens.   

EDIT: Well as I was typing two others posted, there very possibly might be a problem, still try those things though.

Last I heard there was a prob with Dl'n Skins with SDC. Not sure it it pertains to all library's and or which OS, just that it is known to happen. If I find the thread il link it here.

I do not know what happened but I am downloading on my laptop with XP. Problem solved!!!

It's just strange that it worked without any problems for months and it suddenly stopped working just now. I've tried running it as administrator, no joy and I checked all the settings and they are the same as before.

One thing is odd, but maybe I just didn't notice it before, when I try to download something, it shows how it tries to connect to an IP address, but has no luck and then re-directs to another IP address, but still has no luck and fails. I thought mayber the firewall is in the way, so I switched it off, but it still doesn't do it

In most cases we are finding this to be a client side things but we are tracking a few troubles server side. If you are having this problem please contact us at support@stardock.com. We can use all the details we can get.

Cleaning out the IE cookies did the trick for me.

Have to check on that as I use SDC, mostly.  

The cookies fix is working for most issues with SDC downloads as well. Let us know though if you still have troubles.

Cleaning out the IE cookies allowed me to begin downloading again on a Vista x32 machine!

And I'm downloading fine on Vista64 now that those moldy old Ritz crackers got thrown out.

I'm downloading in Vista x64 now OK, too...

Seems such a silly thing to have to delete, but at least it's working again...hurray.
