How Do I Upgrade Mining Bases

Ok, Ive researched all 3 levels of Space Mining and have tried placing space miners and constructor units onto one of my existing mining bases and I cannot get them to the higher levels.  Obviously Im missing something and its probably so simple Im gonna want to kill myself for not knowing it, but can anyone help me please?

If you are talking about asteroid mining bases, then you need to put a space miner on the asteroid and hit build (may be improve) on the miner's command list. If you are talking about resource mining bases, then you need to research the xeno factory line to get access to higher upgrades and then place a constructor on the resource mining base.

Space miners are only for asteroids.

Constructors are only for Starbases. To "Mine" those resources you need to build a starbase on it. So, it requires a constructor, and not a space miner.

Constuctors also build economic, military and influence starbase. I don't think you were asking that but i threw it in to avoid confusion.

To get more out of your space miner, you need the Space Mining techs, that you said you alreday have.

To get more modules to place on the resources you need to reserach the industrial techs as Burress said. And of course you would need to send a sperate constructor to the resource for each upgrade.
