What settings should I be able to put this on?

I was thinking about this game, and was thinking of getting it, but what settings could I confortable run this on? The video card is only slightly above minimun requirements. Would I have to stay on low, or could I bump it up to medium or high? It looks like there is a large differents from bit-tech screenshots.

1GB Ram
GeForce 6600 256 MB
Duel Core Intel Pentium 4 Processor, 3.20 Ghz

EDIT: What sizes of maps could I be able to play, while I'm at it?  Could I run most maps, barring gigantic 100 planet maps, fairly well?

You'll probably be able to play it on Medium settings, but you could try it on High (easy to change if the performance isn't good enough).   Hard to say on the maps, you should be okay on a good number of them.

maybe you can buy some ram they very cheap now
your videocard and your processor(is that the new one?)
wil do the job fine if you can ad some ram i think you can play on medium settings
or even high

P.S. for any Stardock who may read this, I really enjoy the level of support. A huge 1.02 patch so soon after release. Over at GPG, we have waited 4 months for a patch, and it still isn't out yet! :(

I agree Fuzzy. A fast patch and another on the way; some guy on online chat carefully walked me through fronting my port so I could play (I'm fairly sure he was from Stardock), and they even actually talk to us via the forums; unlike most other compainies, who take weaks or months to get out patches, and never communicate with their cusomters.
