Testing unbalanced quote tags in posts

I noticed an unusual behavior in the https://forums.galciv2.com/post.aspx?postid=167924&p=11 thread.

I'm trying to replicate it here for the web team to look at.

I'm simply going to insert a quote but not provide a end quote tag and then see how this affects the following thread.

I'll do this in the first reply since the OP is indented differently than the rest of the thread.

Oh well. I can't seem to replicate the behavior. Please see Reply #267 and following of the thread referenced in the OP to see the problem that I'm talking about.

It happened even in the old system. Seems to be when someone quotes a quote from a previous post, but doesn't get the entire thing. So the end up with a [ quote ] box with an opening html div tag inside it, which then screws up the layout heirarchy completely. A simple edit and switch to html mode and back will add closing div tags, though I generally clean it up and remove the divs entirely when I see it happen.

Im testing too, because I screwed up my empire thread before. Thanks for getting it fixed by the way. :) I'm kinda skittish about it now...

Testing again....

Seems to be working allright. Before the forum upgrade I would occassionally have problems, but I could always go back and edit to fix them. With the problem I had a couple days ago, my browser couldnt display the page after I had made the mistake, so I had no opportunity to edit it to be correct.
