Seeing background icons through ships and planets

Question. When I soom in to look at my ships and planets, I see icons from behind the ships and planets go right through the ships and planets. Is there a way to make it so I don't see planet, canon, etc icons right in the middle of a ship or planet?

There is no option for that, no. Icons show through planets and such because otherwise you may not even know there's anything back there.
