Display

I just finished installing and trying to play the game. I've already run across a potentially big problem (at least for me). I searched the past posts and found that the screen size is 1028x768. I'm assuming this is fixed. The problem is, I have a laptop that has a 800x600 screen resolution. I can enlarge it to 1028x768 and scroll the screen for games that require that res. It doesn't appear that I can do this with GalCiv however. My screen is clipped and the only thing I can do is start a new game, but nothing beyond that. I understand that things are still early in the works, and if I can't help in the alpha because of this its not the end of the world. However, I can't believe that I am the only person that might have this problem, and I was wondering if this is something that can be fixed in the future?

Sorry for the long post, and thanks for the alpha.

The minimum requirements (on the UK retail copy at least) specify that you need a video card capable of at least 1024x768.

The game art and UI is designed for 1024x768. there is no way to change the resolution without completely redoing most of the UI art, and SD is not going to waste their budget doing this. Sorry but that's just the way it is.

I can't see Stardock, re-building all their graphics and coding the game at 800x600, just so you 3 people, who didn't read the requirments, can play.

Try going to motherboard manufacturers website to see if you can update your bios.Sometimes laptop video is done on motherboard and you are limited by refresh rates or screen resolution that the Lcd display can handle.Once in awhile you can upgrade the bios, but backup and rename original one before trying so you don't end up with useless laptop.
