Metaverse not working at all for me! Just a CTD!

I'll ride your post here and say that I have never had a score post successfully. I don't really mind, of course, but it would be nice to have that feature working.

In the end, though, I'm happy with Brad spending his time on improving the game itself! Go Brad!

Do you get the submission box and have it fail? Or no submission box at all?

Oh, and just for reference if it matters at all, i'm running 1.01A at work, and 1.02 something at home. (Can check the exact number tonight)

Sorry about all the ?, but when I tried to read the thread is was all blank. Report it in the Bugs Thread.

I can submit the score (or let me say I get the box to submit it), it then drops back to the main menu. When I check Metaverse, nothing shows.

Now, I am burning my home saves and trying to upload from work, so perhaps that's my problem. The games are the same version, but perhaps upon submission the game is looking to verify the same computer somehow?

What version of GalCiv you running?

I'm running the latest stand-alone. 1.02.

Okay, i checked out the game at home last night (well, technically at 1 this morning, but who's counting?)

According to both Stardock and the number at the top of the menu screen it's just version 1.02 =P I don't remember exactly when i upgraded, but i did so through Stardock i believe. Is the 1.02 accurate, or do i need to check somewhere else for the more exact number?

I loaded up the game, and hit turn, got a message saying Beyond Human or Final Frontier or whatever was finished, and the humans were getting ready for ascension. Hit turn again, got the White Star movie, then went to the score screen. Looked through a few of the pages, and then hit the done button. Flicker, and then back to the desktop, with no question about making a submision to the Metaverse or anything.

The debug.err doesn't look very helpfull, the last six lines are:
Debug Message: Total Ships: 462 & 2 are dead
Debug Message: AIAltarian: Set Colony Social
Debug Message: Preparing to change display settings.

I can send you the rest if you think it would be usefull.

Is this likely a bug that needs to be fixed in a later version (ie i'm out of luck ) or is there something i can do to fix the problem locally so i can make the submission before i install the latest patch?

I am also a frustrated Galciv fan, I have been unable to submit my score. It worked for my first couple of games but since the latest patch I have been unable to send it. It was my best score yet.

I have this problem two, and I suspect it might be because my game has the PQ ability which has since been nerfed in 1.03. I'm wondering if you all have the PQ ability in your game and that might be why it isn't accepting now?

nope, Iv had that problem since before the most recent patch.

Same here, i used PQ, but tried to submit the first time before 1.03 came out.

just to chime in, i've never had a game submit to the metaverse successfully either. i've finished multiple games in every build except 1.03.

I had first two games submit fine. Now I can't get 3rd to submit. Same thing appears to be happening as with others here, I get the submission box, click to submit, and then dropped back to main screen. I'm running the version just before 1.3.

Any suggestions??

It seems some have problems with submission (from scratch or in a later stage), and for others (like me) it always works fine. It could have to do with many things, like latest SDC version, proper alias and email registration, game versions, firewalls and so on. So contact SDC or even send in your saved games, to let them find out if somenthing weird is going on. I am also willing to test submitting your saved games from my system, just to see if it works than (devs, I'm not sure if this is allowed, because it probably would influence my metaverse score, so let me know ). If you modded the game the metaverse will not allow you to post your score. This is to keep balance for the scoring. Otherwise someone might get a higher score just because of it being heavily modded. I think elsewhere it was said they may consider adding a mod metaverse, or maybe it was a request for one not sure really.
