What do you look for when you visit a web site?

I want to know!

Hello, everyone! Welcome. I have created this blog or site here because I have found that this is the place to find the people who use thier computer and the internet at least 6 hours a day. I am on mine at least 12 hours. I have 3 computers running on one desk. I have a Celeron 2.4Ghz, a Pent 4 2.0Ghz, and a AMD Athlon XP 2.4Ghz. Don't ask me why, all I know is that one is not a enough. Even 3 are not enough for me sometimes. I am addicted to them. To me they represent unlimited potential. I guess it all started when I was younger (I am 40 years old now) and fell in love with Star Trek. I am not a Trekkie (I don't dress up in the garb or go to the conventions). I do not miss an episode unless it is the networks fault. My themes on my desktops are LCARs themed and the sounds and themes on my iPAQs are all Trek themed. Anyway I am getting away from what I want to know.

I get at least 75% of my knowledge, news, information, etc. from the internet. I have been a big fan of it since it was invented. One of my goals has been to build an AWESOME! web site. A site that when the visitor leaves, stays with them or at least makes them say "WOW!" I want to hear from you, the people who use the internet at least daily. I want to know:

"What do you look for at a web site?"

Please let me know. You can answer here or send me an e-mail. Include a website address if you reference one.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Here's a good website for beginner site builders: http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/index.html

Personally, I like websites that are neat and not too flashy, is regularly updated with interesting new content and no pop-ups or naughty advertisments.

I also turn away from sites that use fonts and text that don't fit, for instance blue 16 point Comic Sans MS on a black background. That kills my eyes. So I only like sites where fonts and colours are easy to read. There's some stuff at www.coffeecup.com that's quite handy.
