Mouse - problem

My mouse is "lagging" when i open Galatic Civ.

I have a IntelliMouse (microsoft standard driver) on a Win98SE.

I had the same problem in TCM (but it could be solved by adding "mouse" to the shortcut)

Does anybody know a solution to this ?

I have updated all drivers to my mouse, graphics card, DirectX9.0a, still no luck.

It seems that it is only the location of the mouse pointer which isnt updated. This makes the game almost unplayable :sniff!:

if there is anybody who has any ideas at all i would extremely happy.

Just some random ideas:

-Turn off mouse acceleration
-Make sure you're not using some fancy cursor set...try the default
-Disable Active Desktop
-Try the windowed version of GalCiv just to see if it does the same thing

thanks alot for your advice.

I'm afraid non of it worked though. I'm pretty sure Brad has an idea about what this might be because some us had the same problem with TCM. But his probably tight pretty tight up right now.
