Actually you may want to try this site it is a mod for Homeworld and there stuff is top notch, not sure if you can use it though (http://swnr.themaw.net/)

Also I remember seeing a page for Civ III graphics or sprites for Star Wars units that may be usable.

But this would be a real sweet idea and even though I don't know anything about modding or drawing things I am willing to help either with Ideas or whatnot.

Space Empires IV has some mods, including graphics, along this line, too. You can also find Star Trek graphics there.

Terror Star becomes and Death Star cool.

Star Trek mod would be cool also.

Lets see if there are enough people interested to get together and form some kind of mod team to push this idea forward, I think this is gonna be great

The main problem is the inability to limit ships and technologies to just one race. Doesn't look right to have the Aliance to Restore the Republic running around with Super-class Star Destroyers.

Can always use the ships that were used in Rebellion like the Bulwark class that was made to rival a SSD. Also if you use ships from the extended universe (im not extremly familiar but am going off of the X-Wing series, and a couple other series books) that there are alot of New Republic type forces out there. The site that I posted before which was a mod for Homeworld used all kinds of ships so it can be done

Would you like some 2D high resolution pictures coming from my 3DS max modeling of X-wings, TIEs, Destroyers, Mon Calamari ships, transports ... ?

You can limit the ships of the two "sides" by making all the rebellion ship techs require high "goodness" and all the empire ship techs require low "goodness" (forgot what this rating is called in the game). Then make a third, less powerful group of techs (or keep the existing) for neutral, make the Yor evil, humans good (or vice versa , and everyone else neutral.

Is it possible to make the ship sprites higher quality. I'm sure that would make the game run slower but they would sure look cooler.

Anyone got some screenshot of these ships and can anyone post a ss of them ingame?

If a modder wants some 'star wars like' pictures, just say it !

Now that it seems that making new ships is moddable perhaps a modder will e able to draw up some Star Wars Ships

I was just banging around some ideas for the ship classes and this is what I came up with below (it incorporates both New Rep and Empire forces, this is all a rough though)

Star Fighter X-Wing (or any other fighter)

Corvette Correlian Corvette

Defender Bulk Cruiser

BattleCruiser Carrack Cruiser

Frigate Nebulon B Frigate

BattleAxe Victory Class Star Destroyer Mk I

BattleHammer Victory Class Star Destroyer Mk II

Battleship Imperial Class Star Destroyer Mk I

Dreadnought (Keep as like a Katana Dreadnought even though less powerful then ISD)

Phoenix Strike Cruiser

Ranger Imperial Class Star Destroyer Mk II

Avatar Super Class Star Destroyer

Overlord Eclipse Class Star Destroyer

I would do these up but again I do not know how to and if anyone can that would be great

The original ships don't need to be replaced do they? Is it possible to just add more or are you guys thinking of a total conversion?

A TC would require Terror Stars to blow up when attacked by Star Fighters

I was thinking more of just replacing the ships and that is all, a TC is way too much work I would think but just changing the ships I am hoping wouldn't be too bad for anyone with the know how to implement

Great Ideas, yup there are Star Wars mods for Civ3 and SEIV [space empires 4]

I know the SEIV mod actually had 5 or 6 different factions not just the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion, included Trade Federation, Sith, Naboo, Calamari ? I can't remember exactly, its been a while.

I'd love to see a Star Wars mod, have little experience modding but offer my skills/time if want my help on the project.

Ok I'm gonna start to create star wars ships, but it will take a while... For the moment I will just work on graphics...

Thank God someone picked the ball up, I was begining to lose faith here. Lemme know if you need some ideas and such and maybe some more modders will lend a hand to form a team to help knock this out

What a coincidence. I was getting annoyed at how loud the Drengin negotiation music was relative to everything else. I was going to just decrease the volume, but one thing led to another, and I ended up making new star wars character movies and music for all the alien negotiation screen. Given what negotiation-like poses I could find in episodes 4-6, these are the races I was going to use:

1. Drengin - pure evil - Empire (Tarkin & Vader, Vader, and the Emperor)
2. Altarians - chaotic good - Rebel Alliance (Skywalkers)
3. Arcean - pure good - Dagobah Republic (3 yodas)
4. Torian - neutral - Calamari Confederation (2 akbar's)
5. Yor - chaotic evil - Smugglers Syndicate (jabba and 2 surprises)

btw, there are 3 videos depending on your relation with the aliens. The empire and smuggler ones worked especially well. I didn't search the ep. 1 & 2, but I think there would be a lot of good stuff there also. I also found a bunch of 3d studio max models of a many key characters, but I didn't feel like doing all the posing, animation and rendering.

Anyways, if there's still a larger effort going on, let me know. I'd be happy to contribute, though I haven't really been following this forum.

Is anybody still working on a star wars mod?
