Failed to Register

I've run into a problem trying to register my copy of SoaSE ....


I bought the game through the online store using PayPal to pay for it. I downloaded SDC but couldn't log into using my PayPal email address (supposedly the purchase process creates an account for you ... or so it seemed). Out of frustration I tried using my OLD Stardock account which was under another email address and managed to log in, download and install the game. This was probably a BIG mistake.

The installation worked fine. I can play the game. But the game however still fails to register on Stardock. EVEN after FINALLY getting it to log in as my PayPal account email (which I seemed to need to register again on the SoaSE site to get working properly ... not an intuitive process), I still can't register.

How can I get this fixed? I've put in a support request, but it's been almost 3 days now and no response.

Anyone able to advise?

Store accounts are separate from SDC/forums accounts (I believe this is stated on the store page). To register the game, you need an SDC account with the same email address as you purchased with. If your SDC account is under a different address, then you would need to contact support@stardock.com and request an account merge.

I'm not at all sure how you could have downloaded it without being able to register. That shouldn't be possible (You MUST have a valid registration on an account to download with it).


Did you contact Stardock support about this (not IC support), and at least get an automated response? If you did not get the autoresponse with your ticket number, then you probably have spam blocking that caught it (and potentially any response from support that followed).

I've received the automated response, but no-one in Stardock has responded yet.
