MyColors SoaSE Desktop?

I just noticed its available now (via clicking check for updates in game or using the launcher). It says to use a serial key, is this key the same one as Sins?

I've used my Sins serial and my email address but it tells me that there was an error validating my registration information.

1) Do you have the Collector's Edition?

2) If you do, Make sure you go to http://support.stardock.com and have it email you your serial.

3) If you don't have the Collector's Edition, it shouldn't be showing it.

Yea, that'll change. We're going to start moving people to 64-bit so that they can experience the pain that 64-bit users run into.

ok what happened? i download the theme go apply it and my desktop switches into classic mode and all i get is the sins walpaper. none of my icons ,cursor,or windows change.
wtf happened?

Soz, I meant to say restarted MyColors. Also had to make sure that it had both Internet and Server access to validate in ZoneAlarm. Without Server access it wouldn't validate.

I tried to install MyColors. It does nothing. It has asked me twice to confirm EULA and the target directory. After that it downloaded something from the web and that is all. No question about the serial number nor any change of the theme. The target directory does not exist. I only found this file c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\MYCOLORS_SETUP.EXE-02D51EF5.pf . What shall I do? I am running WinXP.

Well it switches to "classic mode" to switch themes. Luna (the default XP theme) needs to be turned off (which is what you saw happening) after that it starts applying the new theme, that may take a couple of minutes depending on your computer, so don't think you crashed or anything.

That's indeed rather odd. Is your firewall blocking the installer, since it does need to acces the internet for the installation.

No, firewall shall not be the problem. I allowed the connection. When the progress of download reaches 100%, mycolors window disappears. I looked at windows themes, but i found only the standard Windows themes there.

Ok maybe I missed something or I'm too tired to fully understand something at the moment. So can those of us with WB use this without the extra application? Moreover importantly where can we download it from?

Easiest way 1Spartan, click download updates ingame, download the MyColors setup file there (located above the CE contect files), install it. Then in the program, enter your Sins Serial (with your SD account e-mail) and it should download it automatically.

Do you have a collectors Edition? (or did you pre-order? Since that counts as CE) If you do, and its not showing, mail stardock and get it sorted. If you however don't have CE you're out of luck i'm afraid.

I have the DL version. I have not ordered the physical CE yet since I'm waiting to hear if my special request to SD/IC will be done after I order.

Just thought i'd post to let everyone know that the "There was an error validating your registration" error now seems to be fixed thanks to Stardock, i forwarded my issue to their support email the one provided by Frogboy and they came back today advising of an update. i did the update and yippee it now works for me. Weather the update was just an update that they played around with my key or something i don't know but it works.
