Dock interfering with top of window plz help

Hi, i am currently using a tabbed dock [in drawer mode] at the top of my screen and it is interfering with all my windows. I am also using a dock at the bottom of the screen.
At the moment i am using desktop x to reduce the work area for the bottom dock which works fine. However when i try and do the same for the top dock it still attaches to the work area boundary, can i get this to stop or is there another way i can do this? As a temporary fix i have used window fx's maximize to specific size option, but this isn't working very well.
