game freezes around 1 minute from loading up

I bought a digital version and downloaded it, updated w/ 1.02. After about a minute of playing - tutorials, single player, or just looking around the options menu - the game freezes, I can not alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del and close it, but I have to turn off the comp and try again. I tried uninstalling the game and re-downloading, and re-patching - same thing. I am running XP on AMD turion 64, 2.41GHz, 2.00GB RAM, dual 512MB NVIDIA geforce go 7900 GS(updated drivers) Any suggestions...?

you tried to lower the graphic settings?

Try as low as possible and work your way up :)

Yes, I have lowered the graphics, I have tried every graphic settings, I have played it in windowed mode, I have switched SLI off, and back on again, I have changed screen resolutions (normally run 1440x900ish). I stopped playing, hopeing for a patch or something to fix this.

Haha I cant believe its been almost a month and no updates to fix this. The couple of minutes that I got to play look amazing, especially with all the graphics maxed out...it runs smoothly, but then it freezes. I dont get it...

Would the download version have anything to do with it?? Maybe the hard copies do not have this issue?

They're the exact same files.

to Yarlen or anyother Stardock moderator, what other information would you need to help solve my issue?

USE NVIDIA DRIVER 97.46 - it is only driver working properly w/ certain machines right now. Nvidia will be releasing a Sins patch (new driver) later this month that should fix the issue (or @ least help w/ issue)
here is a link to Nvidia driver (32bit) =

and 64bit =

I have this exact same issue - however I'm running Windows XP SP2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - it seems my machine has problems with Stardock games, as I have a identical issue when I try to play GalCiv 2.

Thanks!
