"Wrong version of Ironclad Online detected"

- Get this when I try to log in to ICO

I get the message "Wrong version of Ironclad Online detected. Ensure you have the latest update" when I try to get on to ICO.. now this seems like it should be fairly obvious, but I haven't seen anything like an ICO update. Am I just missing something?

i went to install the patch but when i did the file was not there what do i need to do or do i just need to download v1.1 patch?

1.05 is very outdated. Since 1.1 the latest versions are only available on Impulse, so just fire it up, update, and you'll be set.

I got this error message when I tried taking my gameplay online tonight. I downloaded Impulse and tried to install it, but it says I need to have Internet Explorer 7. Please tell me there is a way to update this game without installing Internet Explorer.

No - only way to patch past 1.05 (which had a dedicated install exe) if Impulse (which takes you to the correct version automatically by updatign only the delta files).

No patch = no onilne play.

No Impulse = No patch.

No IE7 = No Impulse

It's that simple I am afraid - you will have to install it. Impulse has been designed around the notion that it will use available windows infrastructure, which includes IE.

I have the same problem. I have 1.05 patch...It installed just fine. I get the same crap, I have the game, I bot it once I dont want to buy it agen. Is Impulse the end all be all to ICO...?

What is your problem exactly?  Are you on v1.05 or did you update to the latest version?  You cannot log onto ICO unless you are on the most recent version of the game.  If you're on the most recent version of the game (v1.181 for regular Sins and v1.041 for Entrenchment) and you still cannot log onto ICO then you have a problem.

OK..so I get sent here and load 1.05.....but they ^ say I have to go to Impulse to get most recent version. I found no patch, only a full perchis of the game. Did I miss it?

You have to download and install Impulse and then register your game's CD key with it.  Then you can update to the most recent version, v1.181.

I really do wonder how many people Impulse has cost the online multiplayer community.  Presumably a couple thousand players clicked Ironclad Online, received the same message, couldn't figure out how to update the game, and never took it any further.
