Please help, how to start a campaign?

Hello, does this game have an campaign and if yes how do I start it? There is no such option under the single player menu, just tutorials and skirmishes. Help please.

You run campaigns all the time. Want to make a push into another empire's territory to take a major resource node? That's a campaign. That's the beauty of SoaSE. You make your own goals. YOUR the emperor. You make the rules, you set the goals. You lead your growing empire to victory or ruin.

Set map to large or huge with 9 AI, and it'll take you longer than just about any other game's campaign. ;)

The lack of a campaign is sorely missed. The sandbox mode in single-player right of the bat feels like a downgrade to me. Although, within budget and time constraints, better to purchase a solid game than to buy a broken one with resources wasted on an interesting campaign. Hopefully future expansions will have that missed component.

Considering single-player only, I understand that there are players quite happy with what the game as to offer right now, but I personally like the entertainment that a good story has to offer in a well-made campaign. If there's a story within a game, I want to play it and feel immersed.

Right now, it just doesn't feel right. It's as if the game is all brains but no heart...

While I hope they add story elements someday, right now you really need to think along the lines of Civilization, Space Empires V.. or outside of genre, Simcity or the Sims. The story's what you make it.

That's kind of why I'm hoping for an improved diplomacy system in an update. The current mission system makes it nearly impossible to enjoy a good, huge mega game the way I'd like. (Unless I could find a regular group to play a mega game online with, but I doubt that'll happen.)

Game was great, but I felt somewhat cheated when I started the game and looked around for about ten minutes. If you read the manual, or atleast the intro to the three races then also watch the intro video in the start of the game it just kinda was a let down. Not saying that ruins the game entirly, but they had this great lore going for it and then it just throws you into a sandbox. Other then that initial let down the game has been great.

Love the game as it is, but I would have loved even more to see some sort of story or meta scenario involving the Vasari and the force persuing them across creation. I think about 10 scenarios strung together ought to do it. The Vasari's story is why I really took the game home. Well that and the glowing reviews. ;)

I hope they put out a full length campaign within the next 6 months. I mean it's totally not necessary, but I have to agree that imersing one self in a great story is alot of fun, especially since the lore in the game has great potential. But other then that I love the style. I'm not planning n playing online until they fix the bugs with patch 1.02, until then I'm content playing countless hours with the AI. Woot woot

End of quote

What he said, I agress, I mean you are emperor, you should not be told what to do, but ask nicely? Anyway, if something happan in your action, it's base tell you what happan story there, Emperor (It's you) should stay at homeworld planet or move to other planet as needed to be, but personal emperor can command from his own personl flagship like Star War where he command from death Star, and his other SSD or ESD was it? but it never done, only Darth Vador got his own. Too Bad it's didn't has one in Sin of Solar Empire, It's would be cool if your homeworld or your own way speal ship that's can't be build unless happan if you are one planet while your personal ship is destoryed, can build again and pick up emperor (You).

Well I know nothing about modding, but wouldn't it be doable once the tools come out? Have a sequence of linked, possibly custom, maps; each one has limitations on available levels / abilities / tech tree. Start off with first contact with the Vasari and go from there...

I hope that, perhaps, if an expansion pack is released for Sins, it includes a campaign? A campaign would be possible, but only if the tools to make one are released or developed.

Gee Sid Meier, this whole Civilizations game sounds great and all but WHERE'S THE STORY?
