Let me tell you What I Think

First off, overall this game is unbelievable. Im serious it rocks. But I do have a few bones to pick let me list them. Feel free to comment on them if you would like.

1. Siege Ships -- These puppies are overpowered. They dont need a damage nerf, they just need to be slower so capital ships can catch up to them and kill them and also need to be much weaker, like artillery in any other RTS. Nuff said.

2. Single Player Campaign -- Wait there isn't one. Yeah Frasier Siblings I'm talking to you. The free play mode is really cool but come on. You have this rich backstory about humans hating humans and alien rulers not ruling any more and you have no lore what so ever aside from that intro cut scene... documentaries don't count. Honestly that's just lazy, hate me if you want to but it feels like you either said screw it we arent gonna do that which is as I said lazy, or you couldn't incorporate a good story into the game. I read a post where Blair or Craig said that one big game is the same amount of hours as some single player campaigns in other games. Look I'm not playing COD 4 where the story is 10 hours long, and even if it is who cares, the mulitplayer is phenomal ALONG with the single player.

3. The whole humans hating humans thing is intriguing but what in the world, 1,000 years ago they didnt like them and exiled them so now they are going to go kill them all ? Hatred doesn't quite survive 1,000 years without constant contact, sorry didn't follow that part.

4. What's up with the dumb AI. They get into a phase inhibitor's range and jsut sit there while they get pounded. Need to fix this, maybe they should go after the phase inhibitor? Probably just an oversight on the programmers part.

5. Speaking of phase inhibitors, for the love of god put in a mobile one. Not just a 12 second keep them from running talent, Im talking interdictor from star wars. Make it have a radius so its not overpowered but following AI or people or whatever around and around different star systems just isn't fun. I think you probably agree and a fix to the AI is most liekly in the works.

Ok, that's all. It really seems like I'm bashing your game that you worked so hard on but I'm not. You guys have so much more talent than me it's not even funny. This game is an amazing game, it really is innovative and I thoroughly enjoy playing it. Don't think im hating on you or your game. Great game and keep up the good work in the future.

Honestly I see a lot of posts like yours, I've been playing for about ~15 hours total now, and I was never in the betas, so maybe I'm still a newbie but I just don't agree with these points.

1) This would be an issue if the AI blitzed past your front line but they've never done that to me. All my frontline planets have a minimum of 3-4 hangers, 8-12 defensive cannons, and a fleet. Even without the fleet, its more than enough to destroy every seige ship without losing the planet. Emergency services and planetary shields are in the game, use them.

2)I do agree with you here, a single player campaign would be nice. Supposedly one is on the way though, and you can always make a mod or play the ones that will be created.

3)I didn't pay much attention to the opening cutscene, but it seemed like just a novelty anyway. There is no story in this game as far as I'm concerned, and I'm fine with that.

4)Dunno what games you play, but the AI will still run if they think they can't win the fight regardless if there is an inhibitor in play or not. This is a non-issue to me.

5)This is my biggest gripe. The game DOES NOT need a mobile phase inhibitor. It would be overpowered and negate scouting entirely. If a fleet runs away from you that is a good thing. Take the planet, fortify it, move your backup fleet up and repeat. For some reason everyone tries to play phase tag with the AI, just don't do it. Eventually you'll take enough planets and the AI will make a final stand and you'll get the big battle you've been waiting for. Not to mention once a AI fleet turns tail, I pick one of its capital ships and hit it repeatedly with Ion Bolts. It never makes it out of the system. Use some strategy people, its not hard.
