I've read the description, but i need more information...

Fighters vs. Bombers
Which one is better against Frigates?
Which one is better against Carriers?

I already assume that Bombers are best against capitals, and fighters are best against bombers.. but its the other ships im not sure about

Fighters pretty much exist to kill Bombers. Bombers I believe are the preference against everything else.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Fighters are good against anything with very light armor (LRM frigates, for instance), and obviously bombers as you mentioned.

Unfortunately I don't remember off hand exactly what ships have what armor type - the manual hints at it, and once the mod tools are released and the entity files can be read, the hard numbers/types will pop up also.

Bombers don't really care if it's a frigate or a battleship. They blow it all to hell.

Could someone explain the upgrades to me? I zoomed in and looked at my bombers (Advent) at the beginning of the game. They did "average of 3 points of damage". Okay. Several upgrades later on the tech tree that said it effected bomber damage the damage is still listed as 3 points average. What is going on?

I wish fighters were more useful. As it stands, bombers are more effective in the vast majority of encounters, at least against the AI.

It probably rounds down rather than up. I've yet to see a single decimal point in the damage listings. Three point seven five down to three, I suppose.
