Can't find serial number (retail version).
Help?
If your serial key is not accepted and you're entering it exactly as it is (A-F and 0-9 with any dashes only), please contact support@stardock.com about it.
I just purchase Sins: Trinity from a Target in Philadelphia and did not receive a sticker with a CD key, either. I checked the case, every page in the manual, and the exterior packaging. I sent an email to support@stardock.com and am awaiting a response.
EDIT: Support got back to me rather speedily. After providing photographic proof that I owned a copy of the game, I was given a new CD key and have successfully registered my game. Thank you to Matt Bertsch in support for his help.
Yay!
wow i jsut read these 3 pages and im thinking o my gosh, the leaders of stardock are talking to there customers
. this company is awesome.
i have a query, last september i was looking in my EB games store and found sins and thought ooo a nice space real time strategy game, only $40 ill give it a try...played my first game and fell in love, spent about 100 hours playing before i setteled down. now ive read about these expansions and really want to try em but i dont want to buy sins of asolar empire again =\ and i dont like downloading games ( i like my CDs). Sooooo i was wondering if i could trade in my version of sins and get trinity for a large discount...can i?
0deathknell0, not sure if there is something we can do with that. You can email sales@stardock.com to check. If you do purchase the expansions via Impulse, you could archive them to disc so you would not have to download them again in the future.
On the 27th of June, the same day I bought the game, I contacted support@stardock.com to try to get some help with my missing serial number.
The next day they asked me to send them scans of the box, manual, receipt, and so on, which I did by the 29th.
Since then I've heard nothing. Not even a confirmation that they received the images, and were working on it.
I sent a "Hey, what's the status?" email on July 7. STILL nothing!
At this point, am I being blown off? Or is there some good reason for customer service to be ignoring me? (YES, I checked my spam folder. Nothing!)
Socrimedes, I am not sure what happened, but I apologize for the delay in support. I have responded to your ticket so you should be all set now.

Frankie1989Fr, please send us an email at support@stardock.com so we may assist you with this.
Add me to the list. Bought my Sins from Wally World about 10 months ago and thought I would check for updates today, and like others have mentioned, I have no serial number to be found. I sent an email to sales. Will they pass it on to support? Or should I resend my request? Great game by the way!
I bought the box retial version of "Sins Of A Solar Empire" the other day and it has no serial number so i cant register my game to update it........
Help Plz !!!!!!!
Did you even bother to read any of the posts here? ![]()
its under the black thing
I bought Sins of a Solar empire trinity and went to download updates from Impulse. I looked for my Cd key and it wasn't anywhere in the box or manual. I emailed Stardock support about a few weeks ago and I have not heard from them since. Can anyone in stardock help please. I would appreciate it very much.
I purchased the hard copy (retail version) of this game [Sins of a Solar Empire] ages ago shortly after it came out. Since then I have moved twice and gone through several iterations of my HTPC. During this time the booklet that likely had the serial key in it has become hopelessly lost.
The other day I dredged up the copy out of my games shelf and installed it. No problems.
I then made the mistake of buying the expansion pack.
Imagine my dismay when, after being forced to do everything through Impulse, not only can I not update the software which I paid hard earned cash for, I cannot even play the expansion which I just purchased.
No where was it made apparent that I would need to have the serial before I could play the expansion.
So, being a faithful and trusting Stardock customer (I have purchased all of the GalCiv2 games/expansions, MOO2, and even Fences desktop utility), I wrote technical support to try and have the issue resolved. I even included a photo from my phone of the actual disk and box against the backdrop of a JAMA magazine dated from this month.
Well . . . after nearly a week I received this reply: "Unfortunately, without the serial number, there's nothing we can do. In order to use the expansions, you will need to purchase a new copy:"
I am disappointed and saddened by this behavior from a previously quality and trustworthy company. If Stardock has indeed become more interested in making a quick sale than taking care of repeat and loyal customers, I will no longer be willing to purchase their products. Please show me to be incorrect Stardock.

You did one thing wrong.
It was not losing your serial number.
It was failing to register before losing your serial number.
I can open impulse, click on sins, and view my registration number any time I like. When i brought my expansions, my copy of sins was already in impulse, so i never needed my booklet again.
Hell, If my computer died, harddrive wiped, all i would have to do is go to another computer, install impulse, and BAM. I now have all my games back.
Stardock is very loyal, and a great company, and in no way intrested in making a quick sale. (they are sill updating SINS... its been 4 years since it came out now?)
Be a man, suck it up, and go to a store and buy 'trinity'. from your post you mention 'the expansion', and not 'the expansions' suggusts that you dont even have the full game. I have seen it for $30 bucks. Hell, you could just wait for a sale, it appears on sale on that impulse daily deal every so often, prolly could pick it up for $15 if your patiant enough. Hell, buy 2 so you can get a group of 4 friends together and do some 2v2 lanning. "one of the best multiplayer strat games of all time" is worth it.
Seriously. Your acting like a baby. Its like going to the hardware store and telling the clerk, "hey, I just brought some nails for my hammer which I lost 2 years ago, you owe me a new hammer, please."
seems harsh? ya, well sorry. My avatar is a ton of lead. you just got hit with it.
If you don't have anything helpful to add, troll elsewhere.
If stardock wants to drive people into the arms of P2P, this is how to do it.
Is there any other way to get in contact for fixing the misssing key problem? I sent an email to support@stardock.com, they asked me for pictures, I sent them, then the next response I got was that the ticket was closed because I didnt respond for 48 hours when I was waiting for a response. So I sent a second email re-opening the ticket, sent with pictures, and the same thing happened, they didnt respond and I got the automated response of the ticket closing because I didn't respond.
Should I open a new ticket instead of trying to re-open my old one, or is there a better way to do this?
