Acheivments and windows live

will i get gamerscore for this game?

I noticed that you have acheivments in this game. but i also noticed that there was no option to connect to windows live. will there be in the future a way to get acheivments added to my gamerscore on windows live?

I don't think this game will ever be played using Windows Live :P The achievements are for your personal coolness factor for now, maybe they'll have a more tangible use later.

Yeah, we won't be supporting Windows Live.

bummer . as this is a big bonus in my opinion . there are a great many x box 360 owners who love nothing more than getting their gamerscore up. since windows live and xbox live are one and the same this could be a huge draw for new players.
hell I thought universe at war was a pile of crap. i even knew beforehand it was . but i bought it just so i could get those achievements it offered.

alone those acheivments in sins are worthless to me.
you wouldve been better off adding a kind of civolopedia ingame

I honestly dont see the point in achievements. (The windows/xbox achievements.)

Im glad stardock/ironclad is not supporting Windows Live. I dont want to have to pay a monthly amount just to play an online game that should be free like all other pc games (Yes I know there is silver, but they make you have to buy gold just to get some of the features that you will need.).

Windows Live Sucks... Paying for something that has been FREE forever sucks...

you do not need to pay to play on windows live . the silver account is free. also if you already got xbox live then you are have windows live already . the login username and password are the same. the only way you would have to pay for the account is to get the gold account which alows you to play online against people. but you would not need to due to the games mp option being already added. so the whole argument of having to pay to play is moot. do a little research into what you complain about before you clutter up my post with your ignorance.

Actually their complain is quite valid, have you seen how Universe At War is implemented through Window Live?

As far as I can tell you are angry that your not being charged a monthy fee for all the multiplayer features in Sins. If you would like to remedy that I would be happy to give you my paypal.

It's not so cool as you say, look at Universe at War. (Ranking/Domination Mode.)

Why should i like this Live thing, because a XBOX Live user does?
And yes i have a 360 and i don't like it there too.

Why want some guys pay for such things, if you can get it for free?

besides that the System works yet not very well look at most Forums from games that strictly require a Live account(doesn't matter if Silver or Gold.)

But one thing does the Live program good, it kills a community(split), and takes the freedom of players.(that XBox players never had.)

Thank god for that. Ive got nothing against achievements, but what I dont like is M$ charging fees like they do with XBL. PC gaming online (with the exception of MMOs) has always been free, is still predominantly free and should remain so.
So far as Im aware, Microsoft dont even host the game servers people play on, they just control the "matchmaking" system. Well, you know what, If I want to kill noobs, I'll go on a damn server and kill them. If I wanna improve by getting killed a lot, Ill choose MY server with MY CHOICE of skilled players.

Just FYI guys, Ironclad has a bunch of ideas for Multiplayer floating around (ladders/rankings, etc) that haven't yet been implemented because they wanted to see what us the players would want, instead of making something and nobody using it.

Thats a good thing, PC Gamer noted in their preview that IronClad really listened to people, which will always send them far in the future.

God I hope there's no implementation of Windows Live. I'll take a good, free, in-house browser and achievements system, thanks.

I dont want to pay either. what i want is some sort of gamerscore. thats all i want. If we could get acheivments on all these pc games i play and be able to do i somehow without implementing windopws live then great.

There appears to be a great deal of ignorance in this thread.

Windows Live silver accounts are free. You can play multiplayer all you want with a silver account, its still free. Gold accounts cost money, the money you pay for with gold accouts is to use the xbox live matchmaking and cross platform gaming features.

If a PC game has matchmaking (like SOASE) adding live functionality would simply add to the game, not take anything away from it. It wouldnt cost you anything to play using the same matchmaking that is in there now.

Perhaps people should actually read about what Windows/Xbox live is before running thier mouths.

Yea, but you practically have to pay for gold anyway to get some of those features that would really help in online play. Why would someone pay more to play a game online after you have already bought the game. It makes some sense when on xbox, but on a PC, it has always been free.
