OD starts two instances on startup..

OS: Vista Home Premium
I have the newest version of ObjectDock, but weirdly that it starts two instances on startup. I tried reinstall it, still doesn't solve the problem. My dock's at the bottom of the screen, the second dock just appears under the first one. This is highly annoying me...tried other docks but none of them as good as OD...

Check your start up folder . . delete OD if it is there.

Try this:

Remove any OD shortcuts from your start up folder. Instead, go to the ObjectDock Properties dialog box, under the "General" tab, and check the box for "Load ObjectDock at startup".

I once had this same problem, and I have known a few others to have it too (all on xp). The reason this was happening to all of us was because the checkbox in the dialog was checked AND there was a shortcut in the start up folder. If you do one or the other, you should be fine.

That means it's still running twice.

Have you tried opening the Start Panel, typing 'msconfig' in the box at the bottom, hit return, then click the 'Start' tab in the program that comes up. There should be one instant of Stardock Objectdock in the list there. If there are two, uncheck one of them then reboot.

If I uncheck one, both of them will be disabled...

Not sure if I completely understand.

You should have one line as follows:

If you have another ObjectDock line and it is checked, un-check it. If you disable one and leave the other it will not disable the other.

I have two startup item called stardock objectdock and both of their path points to the same target, if I uncheck one of them, both of them disables no matter what, that's what i'm trying to say.

Try unchecking them both, rebooting, then start ObjectDock manually then do what Mirsguy said in Reply No. 3 again.

Back up your theme, uninstall, restart, reinstall, restart again.

We have actually had this issue before but have never nailed it down. It does not occur often at all. With the latest beta it seemed to clear the issue. I think you might be carrying the issue from a previous install that didn't get 100% updated. You still get it after all that let us know at support@stardock.com.

Ok sounds good. I or someone else will see to it right away. Please be patient with us as we are releasing a new chunk of software or new game a week it seems. Support is being flogged :)

I signed up just to post this...

I had the same problem. Remove both instances from msconfig/startup.
Start your ObjectDock in the registry by making a string directory.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

Yes there is a new alpha build available through Impulse. This is not available through Stardock Central at this time.
