I'm Confused

"Animated wallpaper isn't just for Windows Vista Ultimate users anymore. With the release of beta 1 of DeskScapes 2.0 on Object Desktop, all users of Vista can use the hundreds of available .DREAM files here on WinCustomize as their animated backgrounds." Doesn't this mean that the beta version on object desktop is this 2.0 that works on all versions of vista? ... Because someone emailed me from support & just told be it wasn't so now i'm very confused. :(

If your system runs any version of Vista that supports Aero . . you are good to go.  But I'd trust support more than anything else.

Yeah ... I have Vista Home Premium which supports Aero so I thought that if I got object Desktop i'd be able to get that DeskScapes 2.0 beta but support said "Currently no Deskscapes is not compatible with anything other than Vista Ultimate. However in Feb it will become available to all installs of Vista." which sort of goes against what they said in that news article.  :NOTSURE:

a beta of deskscapes 2 is available via sdc if you have a valid and current subscription of odnt.

Perhaps support mis-understood yoru question.  You are good to go with a beta if you subscribe to ODNT.

Raven_Nova actually there are two good reasons for getting a Object Desktop subscription, one is the capability to run the beta of deskscapes 2 and if you have a current Object Desktop subscription when the 2008 update comes out you will be upgrade to the Ulitmate version for free.

If you are thinking about I would suggest doing it now and saving yourself some money latter.

No if you have Object Desktop purchased in the last year you have the subscription for that year. There is a separate Wincustomize.com subscription that many would tell you is very much worth the extra cost.
