Where`s the fix for the Invasion Screen bug?

Jan. 9,

I`ve been scanning the posts for news about the b4 Invasion
Screen bug and the workaround, but I thought it deserved a
front page slot by itself.

That is, news of the program fix.

Let me say right here, I think the Stardock crew is doing a great job.

That said, I just find it hard to pick out some weak race at the start of
a game to do the workaround. Besides I`m running into a lot of tough
opposition from some of the minor races.

Thankx,

Prof.

For the workaround to work, you don't actually have to go through with the invasion.  You just need to bring up the screen and hit cancel.

Jan 9,

So, it`s clear, the workaround needs to be done every time you load
your game?

Thankx for the quick reply.

Not load a game perse, but every time you start the game itself.

Difference? As long as the game itself isn't shut down, then workaround will continue to work. Upon closing the game down, the memory cache is cleared and it forgets.

So perhaps, have a save game handy with a transport right outside of a planet. Upon starting up GalCiv load that game, go to invade, change you mind, load the game you originally meant to play, wala invasion bug free for that session.

Someone from Stardock mentioned in another thread that they have a patch ready to put up, but that the IT people are working around with the FTP servers. This person said yesterday that it might be released today.

this is actually te first bug ive had with the game... the only bug ive have with a stardock game before this has been and still is that the Map editor from Alterian Prophesy crashes when i try to do anything...but i bet its so old now that there wont be a fix for it. Galciv2 TA will make it obsolete i suppose, even tho i love the first Galciv game as well

Hehe, I did too... Until I designed my first ship in GalCivII. Once I was able to do that, I never went back. Though I do miss those Vampire ships. :)

So, is there anyway someone could post a little savegame that has the proper
settings to do the workaround?

Here`s your chance to promote your favorite race?

Thankx,

Could someone point me to that workaround, please? I'm not up to date in that matter.

Savegame here. Tiny map, transport right next to a colonized world. Have fun.

We were still having issues with the servers yesterday. We'll see how today goes. Sorry about the wait.
