Look Reverts to WIn2K

Hi all... I have searched the archives here for about an hour and have found a ton of links reporting this issue, but haven't found a definitive answer, so am creating a new post. :) I used the trial of 5.0 and loved it. So earlier today, I bought Object Desktop, a subscription, the whole kit-and-kaboodle. And now, everything I try and load reverts to the Classic Desktop. Argh. Here is all my info... WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.02 (build 42 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(Default Monitor) 1 is attached to NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M

Wblind.dll 2007/12/22 18:38:20
Wbsrv.dll 2007/12/01 16:43:10
Wbconfig.exe 2007/12/22 18:38:09
Wbload.exe 2007/09/27 17:47:44
Wbhelp.dll 00
Wbui.dll 2007/12/01 16:43:05
Tray.dll 2007/09/12 17:58:21
Screen.exe 2007/12/22 18:38:18
...any ideas? Thanks...

Did you uninstall the trial before installing the purchased version?

this doesnt look right, it should look something like this

Wbhelp.dll 2007/08/27 11:54:07

my guess is the installation may have corrupted. try uninstalling the program again, rebooting, then using stardock central to redownload and install windowblinds.

good luck :)

I agree, remove completely and start from scratch!

Also, make sure that nVidia's nView is disabled. It does not play well with WB.......

Hi all... did as suggested. uninstalled completely, rebooted, re-downloaded installer, and re-installed. Also made sure that nView was disabled. Same results. System info: WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.02 (build 42 x86)

this is still not right, something strange is going on. one thing i forgot to mention for which i apologise is after uninstalling run a registry cleaner to remove all traces of the program from the registry. everything else in your windowblinds info looks correct except for the WbHelp.dll. also contact support@stardock.com as well and hopefully they will be able to get you going on the right track. sorry i couldn't me more help mate :) also down load stardock central and try installing windowblinds through there instead. it could be a problem with the stand alone installer

re-downloaded installer

don't use a new installer - register your serial in Stardock Central Browser (aka SDC) then use SDC to download and install

Thanks for replies, everybody... finally figured it out and got it working. Nimbin had the right idea. I uninstalled again, rebooted, and then cleared out everything - the Stardock folder, any Registry entries I could find, then rebooted again. After rebooting, I turned off AVG and AdAware, then re-downloaded. Re-installed, and everything works now. : ) I'm happy I got it working, but geez - that has to be one of the "dirtiest" uninstalls I've ever seen. All the downloaded applicaions are still in the Stardock folder and they do not appear in "Add/Remove Programs," and there's still a ton of crap in the Registry. A mild suggestion for the Stadock folks. Again, thanks again for the help, people!

they do not appear in "Add/Remove Programs

Stardock Central appears in add/remove

the programs appear in SDC for install/uninstall/update/archive
