VISTA

When will there be a windowFX release for vista? This is driving me crazy. I purchased windowfx, discovered it barely works on vista, and pretty much wasted my money. I emailed support and asked if I should return the software in which they told me, "you can eturn the product if you like, however, don't be surprised to see a windowfx soon." This was over 3 months ago and still nothing. I am very disappointed at the lack of support here. I understand the hype over windowsblinds if you have XP but come on, what about those who run aero on vista? No skins come close in my opinion. Would really like some new transitions soon. Please stardock, release a vista compatible version of windowfx.

The current beta of FX is running in Vista but it's not complete. The description is thus:

[Requires Windows XP/2003 - While some features are compatible with Windows Vista, this version of WindowFX runs best on Windows XP.]

We won't release till it is a great product. If you like you can always try out the beta to see how it works for you but for the mean time we still need to work out the Vista kinks. Sorry for the trouble.

There is no recent beta version for WinFX on OD! mwallac8 is right - don't 'promise' things that you cannot make!! Latest beta is one year old!!

My apologies for the wait guys. The latest beta is 3.09[b].008 and was updated on 10/3/07. This is project is still going of course but Stardock has been updating everything in the last three months. Please give it some time.

I am interested in Windows FX for the window size and position feature. Is that currently functional with Vista Business?

WindowFX isn't compatible with Vista, but they are working on a new Vista version.

Stardock isn't... you got to understand Stardock has many many programs they are currently working on to make as compatible with Vista as possible (as well as new programs in the works). Some hold more priority then others, if they say they are going to then a workable version of WindowsFX is no dought on the table... just not done yet. It could be that the 'program' needs a full re-write and might come out as a completely different program (much like CursorXP is now CursorFX).

It is mentioned in another recent post that Window FX works (OK) in Vista if Aero is not used. Since the only feature I need to use is the window size/position limiting for the maximize button, I am wondering if that aspect alone will work? Based on the other post, it sounds as though Window FX will install on a Vista machine.
