"Nice throw! bet you cant do that at g!"

"What a throw across the cargo bay, na don't think I can" he caught the football as it was returned. (stolen from enterprise)

"Bridge to Captain" said a cool but tense voice over the intercom.

"Go ahead" The man said as he put away the football.

"We've got unidentified ships of an unidentified class on screen!" The voice had lost its cool tone and was quickly becoming urgent.

"Hail them!"

"Already tried on all channels, they are not responding but energy levels are increasing according to our sensors?"

"Any way to tell if its engines or weapons?"

"None sir!"

"On my way, head to the boundary of the gravity well and prepare for phase jump! Ensign!"

"Yes sir?" the other man participating in the game replied.

"Go to your post I want those weapons ready! Bridge prepare weapons as well!"

"Roger that sir, shields charged and ready."

"Good hopefully we can get out of this---"

***

"Theres no more?"

"None admiral"

"The recorder show any signs of a struggle?"

"No sir, its like they just didnt exist any more"

"And there was no debris left either I take it?"

"None at all"

"Damn this is the fifth incident this week!"

"What are we going to do?"

"What can we do? This cobbled fleet was only made in response to pirate raiders and this wasn't pirates, too fast and efficient! The trade order doesn't have enough coordination or power!"

"So we are just going to wait?"

"Of course not! Send some escorts with any ship sticking to civilized routes!" The Admiral could only pray that he had not just sent good men to their deaths. Little did he know that a few escorts meant nothing to the Vasari, a race who had made a living on destroying and raiding other cultures.

This is the second to last part of the CONTACT chapter(I know very short I suxors!):

Ensign Bajiro was smart..or so he thought. He had requested a quiet position at a listening post on the outskirts of Centauri prime. Ya right! if you could call them that, this was a main world! There had never been any pirate attacks on this system nor had the unidentified enemies approached. He had a cushy job and more importantly he was safe. 'Yep, best job ever' he thought as he leaned back in his chair pushing the sensor screen out of his view. Had he been paying attention he would have noticed the small sensor distortion that appeared.
*****
*This is Probe, in position* the vasari device had a rudimentary AI allowing it to make small decisions of no consequence, turn here, look there, pay attention to the planet, and then report its findings. It was simple and something any race including the humans could do. *Probe, planet is all clear for assalt*

*Roger Probe this is Spiro control, activate phase node* The probe did as it was told, and the planet became the first target for Vasari harvesting.
*****
"Thats odd? the monitors never done that before, better check the manual" You see bajiro didn't even know what a sensor distortion was let alone what it looked like. Slowly the distortion grew bigger and bigger, he still hadn't found the book. By now he really didn't need to as the proximity alarms started to blare. "What the hell was that!" he snapped his head up and started crying "Why me! This was supposed to be easy!"

Even in the last seconds of his life he remained true to himself, incompetent. He had been performing some maintenance work on the phasecom(stealing cable) and it was still off line. The emergency beacon tried to send off a message(it had AI too) but it was stumped, for some reason the phasecom was off.
*****
The vasari fleet slowly moved through the system, destroying every structure and harvesting every bit of scrap. The system only had a few cobalts defending it, they had depended on two things, first was the outer ring of systems that defended it and second was the listening post giving them advance warning of the assault. Alas the vasari never went through the outside ring and the listening post never gave them advance warning.
*****
"This is Lt. Wright to control, repeat this is Lt. Wright to control!"

"Roger that Wright this is control"

"The advance warning never came, they are here!"

By this time everyone knew who they were. The protocol was strictly followed, every single ship available took off carrying civilians to the designated shelter worlds and all transmitters started broadcasting a call for help.
*****
Six hours later(someone give me a more sensible time!) the seventh combined fleet, the only one that had fought and lived(barely at that), jumped into the system.

"This is AP-1, looks empty chief!"

"This is CC roger that AP-1 sending out a flotilla of cobalts to look for survivors"

The 5 cobalts searched the system and only found one thing. "Sir we have what looks like a small alien transmitter!"

"Roger that, keying into the frequency now...well atleast now we know their names" for the transmitter was programmed to repeat one thing: "We are the Vasari, you shall be harvested!"(anyone thinks of a better thing for it to say please post and I will change).

AN: next one will cover the first "victory" over the vasari by a couple of modified cobalts, and will reveal the pirates!.

All hail the Vasari!
good work keep it up!

Not bad, the Vasari do need a better phrase. I can't think of one though haha.
How about: "We are Vasari, you are our survival!"

2000 doesn't have any SD games registered therefore is not supposed to exist. He was made before GCII came out.
see? update!

we stand approving of the new and improved maheshjr!

*cries* you like me! you really like me! *cries*

Of course 2000 will probably fight back in an infinite crises sort of battle royal involving all my other avatars!
Well there is always the old standby...

"We are Vasari, resistance is futile!"
"We are Vasari, you will be turned into sludge for out reactors, resistance just makes it all the more fun."
"We are the Vasari, we shall kill you for no good reason"

"We are the Vasari, you shall be cleansed"
wait... thats the wrong game...
Eh, would Vasari even leave a beacon behind? Whats the point?
They wished to announce their existence ron and hopefully scare the order into surrendering.
Surrendering wouldn't matter to them. They want resources and the simplest way would be to just take them.
although the quickest and most efficient way would be to not ahve to fight for them, and they probably prefer quick and efficient.
You have to remember they havent encountered any legit resistance before, they were just able to come in and wipe everything out.

So therefore, they wouldn't even know the term surrender.
understandably...

ok, so the probe would be "We are the vasari, you shall... um... ((psst, whats that word? means lay down your)) --FINISH UP THE DAMN TRANSMISSION-- ARMS! to arms! we are the vasari!"

They wished to announce their existence ron and hopefully scare the order into surrendering.
End of quote

Given the complete lack of survivors you've implied, does it matter if the trade order surrenders (not to mention the lack of a surrender order)? They're coming in, sucking resources right off the planets, and moving on. Not a lot of room there, unless they're interested in "trading"...

Make it so that the transmitter section is more like...

"Sir, we're getting a repeating com signal from an bouy of some kind, on standard com channels."

"Whats it saying?"

The rating entered a command, and an alien voice repeated in crisp, flawless tradese: "We are the Vasari. We will harvest your resources. Surrender them, or die as these fools did."

You get a lot there. First, theres the fact that the Vasari have clearly prepared themselves -- its in the traders standard communication channels, in the traders language, which means these guys have been studying and scouting for a while -- that should be pretty scary since the traders haven't had a chance to learn anything in return yet. Second, you get the name, and the intent: we need your resources, and we will have them.
