Finally, the long awaited 2nd expansion for Galactic Civilizations 2 is coming out...today.... but GameSpot said it came out today!... follow the link to see for yourselves (someone from Stardock should send them an email to warn them).

Typical for game stores. My personal fav though was the approximately 9 months they were off on the 1st WoW expansion. They were purely making up dates, not running off of release dates that were said by the developers.

Things like this cause me to dislike game stores anymore.

Digital Download? Yes, please, thank you.

I think Gamespot is too busy running around like chickens and saving their jobs to do anything coherent at the moment. No one's really reading them anymore anyways after the payola scandal.

Responsible Digital Download (Stardock model) is best for the industry.

I didnt know there was something wrong with Gamespot. what scandel? Are they a store too?

I first learned about GC2 from that site so ill be eternally grateful to them for that.

That is funny about the release date though.

I worked at gamestop for about 3 months. Worst..job....ever....well..ok..not the worst, but the store manager was such a tool/ass...I couldn't stand it. And 4-12 hours a week wouldn't even cover food expenses >.<

I think we're talking about the website GAMESPOT not the store GAMESTOP.

Yeah, what's wrong with Gamespot? I tend to rely on their reviews, and I also found out about GC2 through them.

They fired their lead reviewer two weeks ago for panning a game that pulled its advertising over the review. (Kane and Lynch) The internets exploded, and Gamespot has become a laughingstock and money pit.

Aye...my bad. Coffee hadn't kicked in when I read the OP.

Same letters are involved though ~shrugs sheepishly~

I think that it might be that Stardock changed the date for the release of TA. It was supposed to come out this month, if it hadn't gotten changed because everyone wanted more "polish" on the game instead of using lots of updates later.

So then...that would mean that it's OUR fault that Gamespot's site is wrong! Darn us?

From the info at Feud's link, it looks like the whole thing was massively overblown. Of course, most people just read/hear what they want to believe and don't check back to see what time uncovers. And the media tends to be much readier to publish accusations than retractions.
