Our Object Dock plus version 2 is crashing quite frequently. It got an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
the last time. havent checked the previous dumps. understand that our problem has been forwarded to the developers. So hope it gets fixed as we just love the product & are disappointed when it crashes

I can add my name to the list of those with this issue.

Under Win2000 with SP4, Object Dock Plus starts and runs just fine except that a crash error message appears on screen. When that error is closed, Object Dock Plus shuts down.

I actually don't think I have a 2k tester machine. First off try the good stand by of clearing the cache. Here are the knoledgebase instructions.

Go to start > run and then copy this into the command line:

%userprofile%\local settings\application data\stardock

It will open a file folder. Delete the ObjectDock one. Be sure to save your theme before doing all of this.

In the mean time I will look into this matter and try to hunt down the issue with the devs. If you like I would suggest starting a ticket with support if this doesn't work.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'd already raised a ticket. But removing the directory doesn't have any effect on this issue.

We are currently testing the subject attempting as many possibilities for error as possible. If I get something definitive back I will post again.

im running object dock on windows vista home premium and every time i try to load a dock
i saved it crashes and the only way i can get it to come back is to start the program over but when it comes back the bottom dock will not reappear unless i started from another dock that was saved with that theme.

Not sure how that has anything to do with the original problem of crashing on Win2k.  :NOTSURE:

There is some question of work around for the 2k OS. Since MS has said they will no longer support it we won't be developing for it any longer. However if there is a quick fix or some kind of work-around it will be updated. Don't take any of this as law yet just surmising about the state of things. I will make more info available as it becomes available to me.

Good news... I've been working with the Stardock technical support guys and I have a solution which now works for me.

I was pointed to the Stardock Central download application. This offers the opportunity to download pre-release versions of software for which a licence is held.

The pre-release version of ObjectDock (v1.90 build 537U) does not suffer from the crash problem under Windows 2000.

You're able to create a Stardock.net account here:
https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp
This will be required to log into the Stardock server through Stardock Central.

You may download Stardock Central here:
http://sdc.stardock.com/sdcentral_setup.exe

THis certainly worked for me. Thanks to Travis in Stardock support for help in resolving this issue for me.

I am very glad that worked for you. Sorry it took so long with the testing to come up with that one. Please let me know if you still have further troubles.

It looks like I am having the same problem with objectdock plus and w2000. I tried deleting the cache. Then it works until I try to add a shortcut to the tabbed dock - immediately after it crashes.
how can I download this pre-release version. I use stardock central: login works ok but when trying to update (after click to Registration Info) it asks for serial number, there I enter the valid serial number but it says it is invalid. (also with lookup serial number which gives me the same number).
