Life, The Mind, Forever.

I think a lot...

Life…there’s an interesting topic.  Something existing that is so complex, but so fundamental in this world.  I mean, that’s what makes our world unique, right?  Life and the sacrificing of life are what keeps this ball turning.  Well, it would still turn…but there’d be nothing interesting going on.

It’s funny how such an enigma exists in such a paradox.  We can’t create life in a lab.  We can put all the pieces together, but we can’t make it live.  We can make things from other living things, but we’re no Frankenstein.  We can’t make the not living into living.  Aside from that, we try to understand life.  While we know what makes us tick, we can’t replicate it, aside from bumping uglies of course.  Aside from the physical, there’s also the mind.  Now that’s what you call one of the great mysteries of life.

The mind is one of those insane things.  What exists in the mind isn’t real, but we perceive it as real.  I once wrote a long paper on mental representations.  You know, those pictures and shit in your head?  Yeah, what a fun time that was.  Anyway, the mind is a tricky thing to understand.  Psychologists might think they have a clue, but there’s always something more than that.  Otherwise, we’d have no crazies in the looney bin, right?  To understand the mind you’d have to be able to touch it…or at least get a look inside.  I don’t know about you, but getting lost in my own mind can be a little disturbing.  Yeah, just one of those mysteries that’ll probably stay a mystery for a long time.  Maybe forever.

Forever, what a concept that is.  Does anything last forever?  I mean, it’s not like humans could tell.  We come and go like anything else.  We get a century or so tops and we’re done with all that living business.  Then again, maybe we’re not.  That depends on if you believe in that reincarnation stuff.  Not too sure about that stuff, myself.  I suppose it could be possible.  I mean, if you’re a religious person then you believe a lot of unbelievable things.  Who’s to say there’s something out there that you don’t believe but exists anyway?  If you can’t see it, maybe it exists.  Things existed before we discovered them, so why not now?  That makes logical sense, I think.  Then again, what do I know?  I just like to speculate about things.

One of the joys of life is contemplating life.  If not a joy, then at least an interesting hobby.  Of course life leads you down a lot of different roads, be they thought or actual paths.  Life is interesting like that.  Just goes to show you that sometimes, sometimes, you don't know shit about anything.

An interesting read, mate.

But couldn't these 'crazies' just be living in a completely different reality to everyone else. It could be as real to them as us 'normals' are to each other. Who knows? Maybe us 'normals' have got it all wrong (normal being defined by the majority and, in this instance, labelled 'sane).

Then again, maybe we’re not. That depends on if you believe in that reincarnation stuff. Not too sure about that stuff, myself. I suppose it could be possible.

It is feasibly as possible as the idea of heaven and hell. Personally, I believe in reincarnation. I find the idea a lot less, erm, selfish than the Christian ideology. I don't mean Christians are selfish, but if this life is it and we're predetermined to go to our great reward or punishment, then our duty to this realm, this earth, can be easily circumvented. Reincarnation, however, makes me acutely aware of the impact I'm having now and what I can do to make sure there will be a world to reincarnate to in the future.

Life is interesting like that. Just goes to show you that sometimes, sometimes, you don’t know shit about anything.

Yep, you've only got to read what I wrote above to know this.

Life, the mind, forever. Three enigmas worthy of contemplation to be sure. Here’s a little something, BTW, on the nature of what’s real versus what’s an apparition of mind that I think really (kinda-sorta) helps in bringing some unerstanding.

Once upon a time there was a brand new college class started for the study of the paranormal and on the first day the instructor was going over the syllabus and what was to be expected and all the other etceteras instructors talk about on the first day.
And she had a few questions to ask too.
“I would like to know” she began “how many student in here have felt the presence of a ghost?”
Nearly every hand flew up.
“Wow! Nearly everyone? ‘kay…now how many in this class has SEEN a ghost?” she asked.
Again, nearly every hand flew up.
“Wow again!” she exclaimed. “Let’s go a little further…how many of you have TOUCHED a ghost?”
And still, nearly every hand went up. This instructor was then beginning to get a little suspicious and decided to throw them a curve ball.
“Okay…now how many in here has HAD SEX with a ghost?”
And nobody but one lone little Mexican guy in the back rose his hand.
“Oh really?” she asked him. “So you mean to tell this class you had sex with a ghost?” And the little Mexican guy’s expression changed and he quickly stood up. “Oh no ma’am!” he began to protest. “ I…I thought you said A GOAT!”

~ahem~ well...maybe not.
Anyway, an interesting meditation here Zoo. I’m looking forward to reading many, many more!

Heh, if you want to keep an audience you got give them something interesting.  I also like making people think...it's good for'em.

Heh, heh.  Maybe not, but still hilarious.

Heh, you should see some of the stuff I don't write down.   Somehow a fire got lit under my ass for writing...and now I'm expanding into prose again.  I figure balance is good.

So much wisdom in one so young.  Very good musings.  You have learned the lesson of "The wise man is the man who knows that he knows not".

And all that talent wasted at Miami.

Well, you know how it goes. Just gotta open your eyes and learn.

And all that talent wasted at Miami.

Oy!  We'll have none of that.
