I've been playing DL all this time -- I was about to get DA but then heard about TA and decided to wait and upgrade to a Platinum version or whatever the all-inclusive package with both expansions will be called.

However, I've been reading the beta reports and I can't stand it anymore so DA + TA preorder here I come. And now that I've decided to get it, I have to wait at least a week because Canadian Paypal transfers take freaking forever.

And the final ironic touch . . . I upgraded to a screaming fast system so I could play UT3 and Crysis . . . and I have little interest in them now because I'm so thoroughly hooked on this game, which ran fine on my old system.

I recently bought the bundle myself after the fact I just couldn't wait any longer, but I used a credit card so I'm already playing it! I haven't yet regretted not buying them!

With only 3 races at this time TA is still a monumental expansion, the new tech trees breathe new life into this game...and i think my girlfriend is boycotting me i think, but its hard to tell since i haven't been able to pry myself off my computer!
anyway rls669 good choice on the preorder its definately worth it!

A few impressions of DA: the economy is much tougher to deal with. My econ rating is 370 and I'm virtually penniless compared to DL. I also don't much like the bigger/more expensive engines. Patience isn't my strong point and I guess I got spoiled by 50pc/wk transports and 37pc constructors

I really, really like the new colonization techs, and soil enhancement/terraforming seems to be a lot stronger than before. I wasn't expecting to see Wisp turn into a Class 18 world! Although that seems to make Neutral a lot more powerful than it was in DL.

I also like the respawning anomalies, racing to them adds a bit of entertainment throughout the game. Although my fast armed survey ship has been to so many Starship Graveyards that it can probably wipe out the entire galaxy by itself now
