Trying to register my Copy of Dark Avatar

I purchased Galactic Civilizations 2 Gold Edition when it was released. When I installed it I didn't register it because I installed it on my lap top and didn't have an interntet connection when I installed it. When I try to register it now and go to Stardock to download the current update ist says either my password is incorrect or my email address is incorrect. I have checked each several times and both are correctly entered. Am I having issues because I waited so long to register my copy?

That message usually indicates (if you're correctly logged into SDC) that the serial you're trying to use has already been registered before--either by you and you forgot, or someone else did and returned/resold the copy you now have. If it's the former there are some things you can do to try and recover it, but if it's the latter then you'd need to get the details from the original owner, or purchase a new serial.
